Smart Search is a core Joomla! component that allows the user to search through the site content for words or text phrases. It searches the database for content based on which components have associated search plugins that are enabled. By default, searching the Content (Articles) component is enabled. However, other components include their own search plugins. In order to search those types of content, those individual plugins must be enabled.
